A friend recently pointed out that I could get a free tall cup of coffee from Starbucks when I bring in my empty bag of coffee beans. Really?? Who knew. Right on the back of the bag is this little logo, stating just that! Since I don’t regularly go out for coffee, I stashed a few bags in my car. Many years ago we thought dining room chairs with a cream fabric would be perfect! Of course, we weren’t thinking about kids and the damage they could do to light colored fabrics – we have marker, crayon, juice, and who-knows-what-else stains on them. In fact, they were cream no more. They resembled more of a mottled mud kalidescope of sorts. This Christmas, it finally got to the point where we were utterly embarrassed to have people over. I mean, they looked NASTY!

My husband and I went on a mission to recover the chairs. Boy, was it simple and cheap. Our first stop at Tony’s Fabrics in Huntersville resulted in enough fabric to recover all six chairs for a mere $16. We happened upon remnants that we loved and they were an additional HALF off! It took about two hours but I was able to completely redo all the chairs using only scissors, a screwdriver and a staple gun. That’s it!
